PROFILE:
Having achieved my current position through tenacity, diplomacy, technical resourcefulness and remarkable achievement, I find myself looking for a new opportunity to further widen my already considerable business experience. My technical and commercial strengths combined with a strong entrepreneurial streak put me in a unique position able to innovate and refine whilst still maintaining respect and contact with both sales and technical areas of the company. I seek a position that will test, not only my technical acumen, my managerial skills and my obvious commercial instinct, but also my driving ambition.
EMPLOYMENT
HISTORY:
Jan
2001 – April 2001 Easynet España S.A.
Dec
1998 – Dec 2000 PAVILION INTERNET PLC http://www.pavilion.net/
Key
successes:
I started at Pavilion as Technical Support Manager. During the 6 months I was in charge of this
department, I changed it from a reactive cost centre into a proactive multi
skilled department. The considerable revenues now being generated are representative
of the success that I enjoyed. In
July 1999 I took over the sales, marketing and customer services departments,
which I transformed from a collection of semi skilled order takers and administration
staff into a network of self-supporting, cell based sales teams dealing with
initial contact through to delivery and retention. I also created our own
marketing and graphic / web design department, which enabled us to not only
retain far more control over the image projected by the company but which
also helped save us money and indeed introduced a new revenue stream from
contract work.
The benefits of these and the many others changes instigated
can be seen clearly in the increase in turnover and the increase in average
order value of some 200%. Pavilion
is now considered a market leader in provisioning high-end total Internet
solutions.
Aug
1998 - Oct 1998 POST OFFICE
SE HQ.
Project
Manager
Key successes:
This short-term contract gave me an excellent opportunity to learn project and logistics management skills from within a large organisation. Whilst at times an extremely frustrating role, I feel that I have benefited from this in terms of my ability to cope under pressure and have learnt, first hand, the methods required when dealing large bureaucratic organisations. I firmly believe that had it not been for the skill and determination of my team under my leadership this project would not have been completed.
Aug
1992 – Dec 1997 TELECOM SECURITY
I started at Telecom Security as a Telesales Executive, after spending time as a team leader I was promoted to Telesales Supervisor. This was at a time when the company was undergoing massive change. The department changed from a reactive call centre to a proactive team able to prospect, convert enquiries into firm price conditioned appointments and sell over the telephone. This allowed the company to cut £750,000 from the marketing budget without a significant drop in sales or conversion rates. At this stage I was also given responsibility for all commission calculations for the company, and the day-to-day management of the field sales force.
